Event Overview

QNA proudly brings its flagship Tax Innovation Summit to Oman for the very first time, creating a premier platform where tax leaders, CFOs, finance executives, policymakers and technology innovators come together to shape the future of taxation in a rapidly evolving digital economy.

Building on the success of its acclaimed editions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the summit now expands to Oman to connect the country’s tax ecosystem with regional and global best practices.

Oman's Tax & E-Invoicing Journey

Oman is preparing to introduce a nationwide e-invoicing system as part of its broader digital transformation and tax modernisation agenda. Led by the Oman Tax Authority, the initiative is expected to require businesses to issue and exchange invoices electronically through a regulated framework, improving tax compliance, reducing fraud and increasing transparency.

  • Oman’s Fawtara e-invoicing programme will be rolled out in four phases, beginning with 100 of the country’s largest VAT-registered companies from August 2026, before expanding to all large VAT-registered businesses in February 2027
  • All remaining VAT-registered taxpayers, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), will be required to comply with the e-invoicing mandate from August 2027.
  • Built on the internationally recognised Peppol five-corner model, the initiative is designed to provide the Oman Tax Authority with real-time transaction visibility, strengthen tax compliance, reduce fraud and accelerate the country’s digital transformation.
  • The phased rollout means thousands of VAT-registered businesses will need to modernise their ERP and finance systems to ensure compliance with the new electronic invoicing requirements.
